Electronic prescription service (EPS)

EPS

A new way to get your medicines and appliances ...

The EPS is an NHS service.  It gives yo the chance to change how your GP sends your prescriptions to the place you choose to get your medicines or appliances from.  The Hollies Medical Practice will be able to send prescriptions electronically from 17th May 2017.

What does this mean to you?

  • If you collect your repeat prescriptions you will not have to visit the practice to pick up your paper prescription.  Instead, your GP will send it electronically to the place you choose, saving you time

  • You will have more choice about where to get your medicine from because you can collect it from a pharmacy near to where you work, shop or live.

Is this service right for you?

Yes, if you have a stable condition and don't want to come to the practice every time you collect a repeat prescription and if you collect your medicines from the same place most of the time.

It may not be for you if you don't get prescriptions very often or pick up your medicines from different places.

How can you use EPS

You need to nominate a place for us to send your prescriptions to.  You can either ask the reception staff at the practice to add a nomination for you, or, ask at the pharmacy you want to use.

Can I change my nomination or cancel

Yes, if you don't want your prescription to be sent electronically let us know.

Is EPS reliable, secure and confidential?

Yes, your electronic prescription will only be seen by same people as our paper prescription is now.
