We are pleased to let our patients know that NHS Health Checks are now being offered at the practice as part of a national programme to help people stay well for longer.
An NHS Health Check is a free check-up for adults aged 40 to 74 who do not already have certain long-term conditions. It is designed to spot early signs of problems such as heart disease, stroke, kidney disease and type 2 diabetes , and to help you understand your risk and what you can do about it.
Who is eligible?
You may be eligible for an NHS Health Check if:
- You are aged 40 to 74 , and
- You do not already have a pre-existing condition such as:
- Heart disease
- Stroke or TIA
- Type 2 diabetes
- Kidney disease
- High blood pressure (hypertension)
- You are not already being followed up regularly for these conditions.
The practice will be inviting eligible patients in for their free NHS Health Checks over the coming months. Be on the lookout for your invitation!
