Referrals

Self referrals

There are a number of services locally that you are able to make self referrals to.

Tracking a referral

We are not able to update you on the progress of referrals made by a consultant in hospital.

To track an existing referral, please contact the hospital you have been referred to directly. Use the reference details on the letter you received when the referral was made.

If you access the website www.myplannedcare.nhs.uk  you can find out information about the average wait times for all specialties and hospitals.

NHS e-Referral

If your doctor has referred you to a specialist for further care you will be asked to book your appointment using the ‘NHS e-Referral’ system.

You will receive a letter from us within 2 weeks giving details of how to book your appointment and any passwords you may need.
